The Flying Doula Service

Providing postnatal support in Melbourne, Victoria

The Flying who? Providing what? Excellent questions!

'Doula' simply means 'support person'.  A doula provides non-medical support, both practical and emotional.

A doula who provides support to new parents once their baby is born is called a postnatal (or postpartum) doula. That's me!

The Flying Doula Service specialises in making sure mothers and parents feel supported, cared for and growing in confidence in the early weeks and months after having a baby (or babies!).

Kate Wilson-Woolley

Welcome to The Flying Doula Service, your trusted source for postnatal and infant support in East Melbourne and beyond!

I'm Kate, a postnatal doula with a background in psychology and anthropology. My passion for supporting new parents began during my years of studying at the Australian National University in Canberra, where I completed a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Anthropology.

My journey into the world of postnatal support was solidified when I completed the Newborn Mothers training to become a Newborn Mothers Postpartum Professional.

At The Flying Doula Service, I understand the critical need for in-home support when a new baby arrives. My role as a doula allows me to provide the practical support and guidance needed during this transitional time. Whether you're navigating the early days of parenting, coping with sleepless nights, or seeking resources for mental health concerns, I'm here to help.

My services are available in East Melbourne and surrounding areas, and I'm dedicated to ensuring every family feels supported and empowered.

Join me at The Flying Doula Service, where expert care meets compassionate support, so you can focus on what matters most—nurturing your growing family.

I have up-to-date first aid training and a Victorian Working With Children Check.

I'm also a registered psychologist, however I keep the two very different roles separate. I'm always happy to suggest referrals if mental health concerns arise.
